Laser Hair Removal isn’t just for women
Gone are the days when hair removal was exclusively a concern for women. More and more men are now embracing personal grooming and studies show that on average, in the UK men now spend between £20 and £50 per month on grooming products and services.
These services range from the traditional shave to the more permanent hair removal solution. Laser hair removal is one such method.
Laser hair removal can offer a semi-permanent to permanent solution. It provides a smooth, hassle-free alternative to traditional methods and can remove the hair around ears and eyes as well as in between the eyebrows (more commonly called the monobrow).
It’s also ideal for sportsmen. Swimmers and cyclists have been found to benefit as the smoother the legs the more aerodynamic you are, hence, the faster you can move through the water or on your bike.
How does it work?
Laser hair removal works by putting concentrated laser lights onto the hair follicles which targets the pigment, heating them and inhibiting future growth. While the treatment works best on individuals with darker hair and lighter skin, advancements in technology have made it more accessible to a wider range of skin tones. Although guys, it is ineffective on grey hair so make sure you get it done before you turn into a silver fox!
What areas can it work on?
The most common areas for treatment among men are the back, chest, shoulders, neck and as mentioned above, some areas of the face and legs. The precision of laser technology allows for effective hair removal without compromising the surrounding skin. This makes it a great choice for a variety of different body parts.

What will happen at my appointment?
Here at Bare UK, we recognise that it can be quite nerve-wracking, especially when you don’t know what to expect. So, here is a little breakdown of what will happen.
First, you will have a consultation with me. This will give me chance to assess your skin type, hair colour and if appropriate, your medical history to determine the most suitable treatment plan. We will then book you in for your first session.
Prior to your session, it is essential that you avoid sun exposure and certain skincare products to minimise the risk of complications. Shaving 2-4 days before is very important and necessary for the treatment to be successful.
During the session, I will use a handheld device to deliver laser pulses to the targeted areas. Treatment is generally painless thanks to the cutting-edge laser technology we use so it shouldn’t be painful. Aftercare instructions will then be given which may include avoiding sun exposure, using gentle skincare products and refraining from activities for approximately 24 hours to avoid irritation.
Not only is it pain free but the system we use is quick and most treatments can be done over a lunchtime. Thanks to our central location this is often the case.
A series of sessions may be required and this will of course be discussed at your consultation.
Laser hair removal for men is a game-changer in the world of grooming, offering a lasting solution to unwanted hair. As technology advances, more men are discovering the benefits of this method and are enjoying the confidence that comes with a smooth and hair-free appearance.
If you’re ready to embrace a life with less maintenance and more confidence, laser hair removal might be just the answer you’ve been looking for. Get in touch today to find out how I can help.
