Bare WINS ‘Oxfordshire’s favourite Health & Beauty’ Award!

Well I never….

Last week Su, (the very lovely and long standing manageress from the Tao Beauty Salon) and I had a pleasant girly night out. Dinner at Cote Brasserie after work (never had a bad meal here) we then we ambled down to the newly refurbished Bodleian – which has been wonderfully transformed and renamed the Weston Library on Broad Street.

The Mod Bod as one of the papers put it (I like that!) …. It is now a SPACE to rival all spaces….with 2.5km of bookshelves! Lots of height, light and a fantastic roof top with the most stunning views across the Oxford Spires to boot….

Anyway the reason for our visit to the ‘Mod Bod’ was The Living Oxford Awards for which Bare and Tao had been nominated. A few drinks, canapés, a sneak peek on the roof top (on a balmy April evening!) and a brief but fascinating view of the current exhibition ‘Marks of Genius’ all accompanied to some live Jazz in the background we took our seats for the awards.

There were 13 categories in all from Favourite Attraction to Favourite for Kids, Favourite Places to Eat and Favourite for Art and Culture etc. However when it came to Favourite Health and Beauty my heart started to beat very fast when they announced the final three of thirteen of which Bare was included….. Then the winner was………………… BARE UK….. Oh my word!!!! Talk about unexpected – I mean we were up against some stiff competition…The Randolph Spa, TLA Fitness and Yoga Venue no less…. !

Thankfully no speech was required as one was not prepared!!! But it certainly put a different slant to the evening and let’s say put the buttercream icing on a very delicious cake of an evening!

I have always admired the Living Oxford magazine which extends further to the Oxford Restaurant Awards and the B4 business network providing some really wonderful events in Oxford’s most distinguished locations – so it was an honour to be and important part of the bigger picture as a small business in Oxford.

It’s also just a great feeling to win an award and to know that people have recognised Bare and its services as a firm favourite in Oxford.

“Genuinely couldn’t have wished for a better experience with laser hair removal.

I’ve tried every hair removal method there is (shaving, waxing, epilating…) and never got the results I wanted. I always had issues with irritation, ingrown hairs etc. and it was growing so quick that I couldn’t keep up with it.

I finally decided to resort to laser hair removal and had an amazing experience at Bare UK. Not only is everything detailed on the website but Julie also went through the whole process with me so I understood the procedure at every step. She made me feel comfortable from the very beginning, which is so important for such an intimate treatment and especially for someone who hadn’t done it before.

As for the results, I really couldn’t be happier with them. At first I wanted to manage my expectations knowing my skin was quite sensitive but I wouldn’t have imagined I would see such a big difference so quick. My skin has never been softer and healthier (it’s not dry anymore, which I never expected to sort out, and there’s a huge improvement in irritation/ingrown hairs etc.). I went from shaving every 3 days to forgetting to shave for weeks as there was no growth!

For anyone who’s scared of the pain – I was, too, but it’s really not bad at all. By the end of my second appointment I was completely used to the sensation, and I don’t have super high pain tolerance. I had the full body treatment, including parts of my face, so objectively I can say the pain is more than bearable for any area.

Overall just a fantastic experience. Julie is absolutely lovely and a true professional. I always look forward to my appointments so I’m quite sad writing this just after my second to last session. However, should I need any touch up appointments, I will stick with Bare without hesitation, even though I relocated in the meantime. Well worth the travel, and laser hair removal was well worth staying out of the sun during summer!”
