Laser Wart and Verruca Removal Oxford

Warts and verrucae are small lumps on the skin that most people have at some point in their life. They usually go away on their own but may take months or even year. They are caused by the human papilloma virus. They can be stubborn and resistant to traditional methods such as topical creams. They are not harmful but can be very contagious and embarrassing and very frustrating if you swim and play sports.

At Bare UK we can treat small warts and verrucae (less than ½ cm) on the hands and feet. We use the powerful NdYAG laser which is the most effective method for smaller warts and verrucae. Treating the blood vessels that supply the wart with great precision – heating them up and sealing them off. This prevents further spread. Laser provides a fast and effective treatment with no down time, also minimises damage to the surrounding skin.

The treatment is safe and there is mild discomfort like a hot pinching feeling during the treatment. We use a high tech cooling device that takes some of the sting away.

Straight after the treatment the area will sting slightly and feel slightly ‘tight’ for a day or two.

Over the coming days the area may discolour and gradually turn black. In some cases 2-3 sessions are required spaced 3 weeks apart.

Over the next 4-6 weeks the wart or verruca should drop off. If there is still a small dot of discolouration left behind – it’s best to retreat.
